Nine months after the last international project meeting in Oslo, the consortium finally met again in person! For this purpose, 21 project members travelled to Padua in March 2025 for the 3rd international project meeting. In addition to seeing familiar faces again, the project members who previously only knew each other from the screen were also able to get to know each other personally.
After a ‘very warm welcome’ from the teams from the University of Padua and the University of Graz, we started the first of two productive days. This was followed by updates from the work packages, reports on completed project steps and the planning of upcoming to-dos. In stimulating discussions and group work, we focussed increasingly on future work steps and the best possible implementation to achieve the project goals. Also the breaks and dinner together were used for further dialogue.
A big thank you goes to the team at the University of Padua for planning and organising the meeting and the impressive tour through Palazzo del Bo, the historic seat of the University of Padua, where we were able to marvel at the Anatomical Theatre. There we also walked through the rooms where Galileo Galilei and Giovani Battista Morgagni taught, and where Elena Lucrezia Cornaro Piscopia became the first woman in the world to graduate from university in 1678.
Overall, we left the project meeting full of tasks, but highly motivated to successfully complete the next steps of the project. We had a great time in Padua and look forward to meeting again in October 2025 in Granada (Spain) for the next on-site meeting.
